Arena di Verona 2019

Opera in the midsummer night

The Arena di Verona hosted its first Italian opera over 100 years ago and has remained a summer attraction for opera fans due to its outstanding acoustics.

It is the second largest Roman amphitheatre (the Colosseum in Rome is the largest) and holds up to 22,000 visitors. The stage covers an area of 1,500 square meters, making it difficult for stage directors, but the challenge is always magnificently overcome. This turns every performance into a monumental, open-air experience. Absolutely magnificent!

The 'Queen' of then the Arena di Verona's Opera titles Aida, will be staged from June 22nd 2019, in 16 performances with Franco Zeffirelli's remarkable sets, enriched by costumes by Anna Anna.
